Multi-Parameter Analyzer measuring principle

Signals collected by various water quality sensors (such as pH, dissolved oxygen, conductivity, turbidity, and temperature) are digitally processed, automatically compensated, and output in a unified manner to achieve synchronous and continuous online monitoring of water quality.

  • FAQ

1. What is a multi-parameter water quality analyzer?

A multi-parameter analyzer combines several water quality sensors in one system for continuous online monitoring. It is widely used in urban and rural water supply plants, tap water networks, secondary water supply, user taps, indoor swimming pools, large-scale purification equipment and direct drinking water systems.

2. How does a multi-parameter analyzer work?

Signals from multiple water quality sensors, such as pH, dissolved oxygen, conductivity, turbidity and temperature, are digitally processed, automatically compensated and output in a unified manner. This enables synchronous, continuous online monitoring with one system.

3. Which parameters can be measured?

Depending on the model and configuration, Asmik analyzers can measure turbidity, residual chlorine (or chlorine dioxide / ozone), pH, ORP, temperature, conductivity (TDS, salinity) and dissolved oxygen.

4. Which Asmik multi-parameter analyzer should I choose?
  • MIK-MPP1000: cabinet analyzer (800 × 506 × 180 mm) for turbidity, residual chlorine, pH/ORP, temperature, conductivity and dissolved oxygen; turbidity range up to 4000 NTU; optional heating module for -25 °C operation.
  • MIK-MPP500: economy cabinet analyzer (500 × 400 × 200 mm) with color touch screen; turbidity up to 2000 NTU; optional pure water conductivity sensor (0–20 μS/cm).
  • MIK-MDX100: compact wall-mounted analyzer for up to 6 parameters with reagent-free measurement, 24 VDC or 220 VAC power and up to 4 analog outputs.

If you are unsure, send us your application details and our engineers will recommend a model.

5. Can I choose which parameters are included?

Yes. The MIK-MDX100 lets you add or remove parameters to suit project needs. The MIK-MPP500 is available in standard and custom versions, and the custom version supports parameter removal. The MIK-MPP1000 also supports customization, including trademark, name and cabinet appearance.

6. Are reagents required?

The MIK-MDX100 is reagent-free, with no reagent consumption, no secondary pollution and no waste liquid; its residual chlorine measurement uses the three-electrode constant potential method. For other models, please contact us to confirm the measuring method and consumables for your configuration.

7. What residual chlorine ranges are available?
  • MIK-MPP1000: residual chlorine / chlorine dioxide 0–5 mg/L or 0–20 mg/L; accuracy ±0.05 mg/L or ±5%
  • MIK-MPP500: residual chlorine / chlorine dioxide / ozone 0–5 mg/L or 0–20 mg/L; accuracy ±0.05 mg/L or ±5%
  • MIK-MDX100: residual chlorine / chlorine dioxide / ozone 0–5 mg/L; accuracy ±0.1 mg/L or ±10% (whichever is greater)

For dedicated chlorine measurement, see our chlorine sensors and transmitters.

8. Can the analyzers measure low turbidity in drinking water?

Yes. The MIK-MPP1000 and MIK-MPP500 are designed for tap water (0.1–1 NTU) and purified water (0.001–0.1 NTU), with turbidity ranges starting from 0–1 NTU and a resolution of 0.001 NTU. The MIK-MDX100 measures 0–100 NTU using the 90° infrared scattering method.

9. What communication and outputs are available?
  • All models: RS485 with Modbus RTU protocol
  • MIK-MPP1000 and MIK-MPP500: wireless data transmission interface
  • MIK-MPP1000: expansion ports for RS485 and 4–20 mA
  • MIK-MDX100: up to 4 adjustable 4–20 mA outputs
10. What power supply is required?
  • MIK-MPP1000: 220 VAC ±22 V, 50 Hz; 30 W
  • MIK-MPP500: 220 VAC ±22 V, 50 Hz; ≤30 W
  • MIK-MDX100: 220 VAC (<20 W) or 24 VDC
11. What sample water flow and pressure are needed?
  • MIK-MPP1000: 500–1000 mL/min
  • MIK-MPP500: 0.03–0.06 m³/h (0.5–1 L/min); inlet pressure <0.3 MPa
  • MIK-MDX100: 0.6–1.5 L/min

Please tell us your sample pressure so we can confirm whether a pressure reducer is needed.

12. Can the analyzers be used outdoors or in cold climates?

The MIK-MPP1000 operates from 4 °C to 50 °C, or from -25 °C to 50 °C with the optional temperature-controlled heating and antifreeze module, and is suitable for outdoor use in cold and hot areas. The MIK-MPP500 operates from 0 °C to 50 °C, and the MIK-MDX100 from 0 °C to 55 °C.

13. How much maintenance is required?

For the MIK-MPP1000 and MIK-MPP500, recommended maintenance periods are:

  • Turbidity: 3–12 months, depending on water quality
  • Residual chlorine: 1–3 months, or weekly calibration, with consumables replaced every 3–6 months
  • pH/ORP: 1–3 months
  • Conductivity: 3–6 months
  • Temperature: 12 months
14. What protection and automation features are included?

The MIK-MPP1000 and MIK-MPP500 have built-in water ingress detection and automatic protection to avoid damage from unexpected failures. The MIK-MPP500 also supports remote control functions such as automatic sewage discharge and adjustment.

15. Can it measure pure water conductivity?

Yes. The MIK-MPP500 offers an optional pure water conductivity sensor with a range of 0–20 μS/cm, in addition to the standard 0–20,000 μS/cm range.

16. How is the analyzer installed?

The MIK-MDX100 is wall-mounted with sensors that can be freely combined. The MIK-MPP1000 and MIK-MPP500 are integrated cabinet systems. All models need a sample water inlet within the specified flow and pressure range, a drain line and power supply. Please follow the installation manual or contact us for site-specific advice.
