1. What is the MIK-TDS8001 digital conductivity sensor?
The MIK-TDS8001 is a digital conductivity and salinity detection module with a two-pole graphite sensor, a PPS housing, a built-in temperature sensor and RS485 (Modbus-RTU) output. It is designed for aquaculture, environmental water treatment and industrial processes.
2. What does the MIK-TDS8001 measure?
It measures conductivity and salinity in aqueous systems, together with temperature.
3. What is the measuring range?
- 0–9999 μS/cm
- 10.00–70.00 mS/cm
Please tell us your required salinity range so we can confirm the configuration.
4. How accurate is the MIK-TDS8001?
5. Why does it use a graphite electrode?
Graphite has excellent electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance. The two-pole graphite design provides high stability for continuous monitoring in both fresh water and sea water.
6. Can it be used in seawater?
Yes. The MIK-TDS8001 is corrosion-resistant and suitable for continuous monitoring of fresh water and sea water. For another seawater salinity option, see the MIK-TDS8002 digital conductivity sensor with a quadrupole alloy electrode.
7. What output and protocol does it use?
The sensor provides RS485 output with Modbus-RTU protocol, so it can be connected directly to a PLC, data logger or IoT gateway without a separate transmitter.
8. Does it have temperature compensation?
Yes. The built-in temperature sensor provides the temperature value used for compensation of the conductivity reading.
9. What makes the signal stable?
The sensor uses an isolated power supply design, which improves data stability and provides strong anti-interference capability in industrial and field environments.
10. What temperature range can it handle?
The temperature range is 0–60.0 °C.
11. What is the housing material and installation thread?
- Housing: PPS (polyphenylene sulfide)
- Thread: G3/4
12. What can the MIK-TDS8001 be connected to?
It can be connected to any Modbus-RTU master, such as a PLC, SCADA system, data logger or IoT gateway. It can also be used with the MIK-DC2000 controller for Asmik digital sensors; please confirm compatibility with us.
13. What power supply and communication settings does it use?
Please contact us for the power supply requirement, default communication settings and register map of the MIK-TDS8001.
14. Is it suitable for aquaculture?
Yes. It is designed for aquaculture, where conductivity and salinity monitoring helps maintain suitable water conditions, especially in brackish and seawater farming.
15. How should the sensor be installed and maintained?
- Install the sensor so the electrodes are fully immersed and free of air bubbles.
- Place it in a representative location with steady water movement.
- Clean the electrode surfaces regularly, as deposits and biofouling affect the reading.
- Check the reading against a conductivity standard solution after cleaning.
16. What information should I provide to get a quotation?
To help us select the correct configuration, please provide:
- Application (aquaculture, environmental water, industrial process)
- Water type (fresh, brackish or sea water) and expected range
- Water temperature
- Host system (PLC, IoT gateway or Asmik controller)
- Cable length
- Quantity
