MIK-PPS200 suspended solids meter, based on the infrared absorption scattered light method and combined with the application of ISO7027 method, can guarantee the continuous and accurate detection of turbidity. Based on ISO7027, infrared double scattering light technology will not be affected by chroma for the measurement of turbidity value. According to the usage environment, self-cleaning function can be equipped with. It assures the stability of data and reliability of performance; with the built-in self-diagnosis function, it can make sure the accurate data be delivered; besides, the installation and calibration is quite simple.

1. What is the MIK-PSS200 suspended solids meter?
The MIK-PSS200 is an online suspended solids meter for sludge concentration, TSS and MLSS measurement. It is based on the infrared absorption scattered light method combined with ISO 7027, and provides a local display, three analog outputs, three relays and RS485 Modbus communication.
2. How does it measure suspended solids?
Infrared light is directed into the water, and the light scattered by suspended particles is measured. Based on ISO 7027, the infrared double scattering technology is not affected by the color (chroma) of the water, which supports continuous and accurate detection of suspended solids and sludge concentration.
3. What measuring ranges are available?
- 0.1–20,000 mg/L
- 0.1–45,000 mg/L
- 0.1–120,000 mg/L
Choose the range that covers your maximum expected concentration.
4. How accurate is the MIK-PSS200?
The deviation is less than ±5% of the measured value.
5. Is a self-cleaning function available?
Yes. Depending on the usage environment, the MIK-PSS200 can be equipped with a self-cleaning function to keep the optical window clean and reduce manual maintenance.
6. Does it have self-diagnosis?
Yes. The built-in self-diagnosis function helps ensure that accurate data is delivered and supports stable, reliable performance.
7. What outputs are available?
- Three analog 4–20 mA outputs; response parameters and ranges are programmable (maximum load 500 Ω)
- Three relays; response parameters and set points are programmable
- MODBUS RS485 communication transmitting real-time measurements
8. What can the relays and analog outputs be used for?
The relays can be set for high or low concentration alarms and control tasks such as switching sludge pumps or valves, and the analog outputs can send the measured value to a PLC, recorder or SCADA system for continuous control.
9. What display does it have?
It has a 128 × 64 dot matrix LCD with LED backlight.
10. What power supply is required?
AC 220 V, 50 Hz, 5 W, or 24 VDC.
11. What pressure can the sensor withstand?
The pressure range is ≤0.4 MPa.
12. What materials are used?
- Main body: SUS316L (ordinary version) or titanium alloy (seawater version)
- Upper and lower covers: PVC
- Cable: PVC
13. Can it be used in seawater?
Yes. A seawater version with a titanium alloy main body is available. Please tell us your water type so we can confirm the configuration.
14. What are the protection rating and operating limits?
- Ingress protection: IP68 / NEMA 6P
- Operating temperature: -15 to 60 °C
- Storage temperature: -15 to 65 °C
15. What are the size and weight?
- Size: 145 × 125 × 162 mm (L × W × H)
- Weight: 1.3 kg
16. How is the MIK-PSS200 calibrated?
Installation and calibration are designed to be simple. For best accuracy on site, suspended solids meters are generally calibrated against laboratory measurements of samples from the same process, because particle properties differ between applications.
17. How should the sensor be installed?
- Immerse the sensor in a representative, well-mixed location.
- Avoid positions with heavy air bubbles, such as directly above aerators.
- Keep the optical window away from tank walls and the bottom.
- Use a mounting bracket and make sure the sensor can be removed for cleaning.
18. How is the MIK-PSS200 different from the MIK-PSS9010?
The MIK-PSS200 is a complete meter with display, three 4–20 mA outputs, three relays and ranges up to 120,000 mg/L. The MIK-PSS9010 is a digital sensor with RS485 output and a range of 20–30,000 mg/L, intended for connection to a controller or PLC.
19. Where is the MIK-PSS200 used?
Typical applications include aeration tanks (MLSS), return and waste sludge lines, thickeners and effluent monitoring in wastewater treatment, as well as industrial process water.
20. What information should I provide to get a quotation?
To help us select the correct configuration, please provide:
- Application (MLSS, return sludge, effluent, seawater, industrial process)
- Expected concentration range (mg/L)
- Water temperature and pressure
- Whether self-cleaning is required
- Output and relay requirements
