  • FAQ

1. What is the MIK-EC8.0 conductivity meter?

The MIK-EC8.0 is an intelligent online industrial conductivity meter for continuous monitoring of EC, TDS or ER (resistivity) and temperature in solutions. It provides 4–20 mA, relay and RS485 outputs.

2. What parameters can it measure?

It measures EC (electrical conductivity), TDS (total dissolved solids) or ER (resistivity), together with temperature.

3. What is the measuring range?

The overall measuring range is 0.00 μS/cm to 2000 mS/cm. The usable range at your measuring point depends on the cell constant of the connected electrode, so please tell us your expected conductivity so we can recommend a suitable sensor.

4. How accurate is the MIK-EC8.0?
  • Conductivity accuracy: ±1% FS
  • Temperature accuracy: ±0.2 °C
  • Temperature resolution: 0.1 °C
5. What temperature compensation is supported?

Manual or automatic temperature compensation is supported, with NTC30K or PT1000 temperature sensors, over a range of -10 to 130 °C.

6. What outputs are available?
  • Analog output: 4–20 mA, maximum loop 500 Ω
  • Communication: RS485, Modbus-RTU
  • Relay output

Please tell us your relay requirements so we can confirm the configuration.

7. What power supply is required?

90 to 260 VAC.

8. What is the weight and size?

The meter weighs 0.85 kg. Dimensions are shown in the drawing on this page.

9. Does it have protection against system freezes?

Yes. The meter uses an industrial watchdog design to prevent the instrument from halting, which helps ensure reliable continuous operation.

10. Which conductivity sensors can be connected?

Asmik conductivity sensors such as the MIK-TDS6012, MIK-TDS7001, MIK-TDS7002 and MIK-TDS7003 are available. Please make sure the sensor's temperature element matches the meter (NTC30K or PT1000).

11. How do I choose the electrode cell constant?

Low cell constants are used for pure and ultrapure water, medium cell constants for general water, and high cell constants for high-conductivity solutions. Send us your expected range for a recommendation.

12. Can it be used for pure water and resistivity measurement?

Yes. With a low cell constant electrode, the meter can measure low conductivity and display resistivity (ER), which is commonly used for pure water. For very low conductivity, use a flow-through installation to avoid air contact, as absorbed CO₂ affects the reading.

13. How is the MIK-EC8.0 different from the MIK-TDS210-B and MIK-TDS210-C?

The MIK-EC8.0 offers ±1% FS accuracy, ±0.2 °C temperature accuracy, NTC30K or PT1000 temperature sensors and a wide 90–260 VAC power input. The MIK-TDS210-B and MIK-TDS210-C use NTC10K or PT1000 sensors and offer both 220 VAC and 24 VDC power options.

14. How is the conductivity meter calibrated?

Calibration is generally performed by entering the electrode's cell constant or by using a conductivity standard solution close to your process range. Please follow the calibration procedure in the manual.

15. Which industries use the MIK-EC8.0?

It is widely applied in thermal power, chemical fertilizer, environmental protection, metallurgy, pharmacy, biochemistry, food and water industries.

16. What information should I provide to get a quotation?

To help us select the correct configuration, please provide:

  • Medium and expected conductivity / TDS / resistivity range
  • Process temperature
  • Whether a sensor is required, and the preferred cell constant
  • Temperature sensor type (NTC30K or PT1000)
